2021-2022 Application for AS positions now open
Interested in taking up a leadership role on the Associated Studends team? If you
have a desire to be a voice for your fellow students and have a passion to do good,
come and join us as you are. All positions are open for the 2021-2022 academic year.

All students who wish to be considered for any of the 18 elected positions must submit a
completed application by 11:59 PM, Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
This year, campaigning will be moved to an online format and all applicants have the option to submit a one-minute video statement. This will be posted on an AS Election Campaign webpage on the Mesa College website. The link to your video statement must be included in your application. If no video statement is provided, the applicant's 75-word biographical statement will be posted instead.
Voting will take place Monday, May 3, 2021 until Friday, May 7, 2021. All eighteen
(18) Fall 2021-Spring 2022 elected positions are determined by student body vote.
3 elected executive positions (*Executive positions require previous AS experience.):
- 1 President
- 1 Vice President
- 1 Treasurer
15 elected non-executive positions:
- 15 Senator positions
Eligibility for all Mesa College AS candidates
- maintain a minimum of five (5) units at Mesa College throughout their term and at
time of application
- have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- have completed at least 6 units
- The majority of units in a candidate’s course load must be attended at Mesa College

ASSOCIATED STUDENTS
The Associated Students (AS) is the representative body of the students in the shared
governance process at Mesa College. We are fellow students whom have been elected
or appointed to positions with the AS. The AS provides students with practical leadership
experience in the areas of budget/financial planning, parliamentary procedures, and
in the development of programs and services which are designed to meet student needs.
The student leaders and the staff of the Student Affairs Office encourage you to get
involved and take part in the many leadership opportunities available at Mesa College.
