Getting Started With DSPS
If you are a Mesa College student who has a disability (either permanent or temporary) or medical condition that impacts learning, we encourage you to meet with a DSPS Counselor to determine the accommodations that are appropriate for you. To be eligible, you will need to provide documentation of your disability or medical condition. If you are unable to provide verification but believe you would benefit from having academic accommodations, you are still encouraged to apply for services. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted by the DSPS Office. Follow the steps below to get started!
- Complete the DSPS Registration form to Receive Support
Fill out the online DSPS Registration with your student information, academic goals, and disability or medical condition indicated. You will be contacted through the email you provide within 2-3 business days to schedule a welcome appointment to meet with a DSPS Counselor.
Access the DSPS Application for Services - Provide Verification
You will be responsible for providing documentation verifying your disability or medical condition. Please include the signed Verification of Disability Request form from either your medical provider, clinician (psychiatrist, psychologist, LCW, MFT), learning disability specialist, or school district (i.e. IEP) as applicable.
Complete the Verification of Disability (VOD) Request Form You may attach your VOD to the online DSPS Application, submit it via email to mesadsps@sdccd.edu, mail it, or bring it in person to the DSPS Office.

Review the Service Agreement Guidelines to gain understanding of DSPS expectations and requirements so you may receive accommodations at sites throughout the District. When all your required documents have been received and reviewed by DSPS, you will be contacted to schedule a one hour intake welcome appointment with a DSPS Counselor.
New Service Guidelines
Current DSPS Student?
Current students who have received services from DSPS at any of the three colleges (City, Mesa, Miramar) and have a question, or would like to request an appointment to meet with a DSPS counselor may submit an Appointment Request and we will connect with you.
Current students who have received services from Mesa DSPS within the last year can request an accommodation letter for the current or upcoming semester through MyDSPS Portal and selecting "Request Accommodation Letter" once you are registered for classes for that term.
